Interesting exercise

"I'm Audrey in this dress and I love it more than anything in the world."

Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro

A new book meme is circulating and its rules are these (via ever so humble):

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

2nd Wedding Anniversary

What a fabulous weekend that was!!

My darling Gwen had me in for a surprise; he had prepared a surprise mini-weekend getaway to Dordogne & the south of Corrèze. It was a rainy Saturday morning but it didn't bother me as rain is so important in spring. Our first stop was in lovely Martel. We had a picnic ready but with the pouring rain, we ate in the car before visiting the impressive Gouffre de Padirac. The rain actually made the visit better since it made for lovely water infiltrating bellow earth. At last, the sky cleared itself for our visit of Rocamadour.

We then headed towards Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne where Gwen had booked us a room. We had the junior suite at the Manoir de Beaulieu. It's a lovely hotel operated by a young man who turned it in a very stylish yet cozy place. The staff gave us undivided attention & ready to fulfill all our needs. I really appreciated the Maître D who was classy yet accessible & humorous. The evening spent there was very romantic. It began with apéro by the fireplace. It was then followed by an elegant gastronomic diner in the hotel's restaurant. The food was delicious & we only have compliments for the chef. We then headed to our charming room where we exchanged gifts before going to bed (we are such geeks; I received an Ipod photo while he got an Ipod shuffle... I suppose it shows we are meant to be together).
The next morning, we had breakfast before walking through the splendid village. The riverside was sublime. Who could not love a town that has a rue Patata!?! I wish that was my address.

We then drove to other beautiful villages of the area like Collonges-la-Rouge. Our last stop was in Turennes, where we climbed all the way to the top of the hill! (my muscles are still sore) We didn't stop there... We visited the castle and climbed it's highest tower that offered us a spectacular view of the region. Afterwards we were so tired that we slowly drove home, stopping only to buy pretty tulips.

Wonderful April 19th celebration, yeah?

I will post pictures once my Flickr upload account is reactivated!

I left home & i'm back home...

I know my title doesn't make much sense but it's truly how i feel.

I saw my friend D in Paris before driving back to Limoges and she asked me where home was for me.
I replied my apartment in Limoges was my home whilst Montréal was also my home.
She feels like a foreigner when she goes back to her country. I don't...

I wonder how expats usually feel about it.

J'ai vécu 2 mois fabuleux, rempli d'émotions avec certains moments difficiles mais aussi des moments de pur bonheur avec ma famille et mes amis.

I'll sure miss them like crazy!
